Just like you, your cat or kitten is a unique individual and her feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity. Use this chart as a starting point, and monitor your cat or kitten’s weight, adjusting amounts as needed. Feed her twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.

Post weaning feed kittens 1/4 cup per lb of body weight. At 20 weeks, decrease feeding to 1/8 cup per lb of body weight. Start adult feeding guide by 52 weeks. During gestation increase feeding amount by 25 percent. During lactation free feed.

Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5 – 7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.

Where do you source your ingredients from?

Food choices are some of our most important decisions and these days, knowing where your food is from has taken on new importance. That’s why we make ACANA in our own kitchens, from fresh regional ingredients raised by people we know and trust. Raised on local ranches, our ranch-raised red meats are raised naturally, in the heart of Kentucky’s lush Appalachian ranching country.

Do your foods contain Vitamin K3?

No. ACANA foods are not supplemented with Vitamin K3.

Why do ACANA foods contain botanicals?

ACANA pet foods are designed to mirror the natural diet. Botanicals are an important part of the natural diet for all cats. Our botanicals are selected by one of North America’s leading homeopathic veterinarians.
